Booker T is still going after Dave Meltzer over their infamous Jericho Cruise confrontation — but this time, he also offered an apology.
The WWE Hall of Famer addressed the situation again during the March 9, 2026 episode of his Hall of Fame podcast. Booker reacted to Meltzer claiming that the cruise confrontation didn’t happen the way Booker described it. Booker immediately pushed back on that version of events and accused Meltzer of misrepresenting the situation.
“Dave Meltzer, his claims are extraordinary. His claims are that him and I on the Jericho Cruise, the incident really never happened. The incident was with Sharmell and his 63-year-old cousin, who’s a kickboxer and has cancer. Prayers going up for him. But Meltzer is lying, a piece of you know what.”
Booker also stressed that his wife Sharmell was not involved in the confrontation the way Meltzer allegedly suggested. According to Booker, the only detail Meltzer reportedly got right about the story was that Ric Flair was present during the moment.
“The way he framed the story was totally inaccurate. I don’t want Sharmell to be looked at as a bully or as someone picking on people. She didn’t say anything that day. The only true thing that Dave Meltzer said about that story was that Ric Flair was there. Flair can vouch for what exactly happened that day.”
Despite his strong criticism, Booker eventually softened his tone and said he would apologize if Meltzer genuinely remembers the situation differently or is dealing with personal issues. Booker closed by saying he didn’t want the situation to be misinterpreted and insisted he wasn’t trying to make light of anything serious.
“But like I said, if it’s the other way and Dave doesn’t remember, maybe he’s going through something and again I sincerely apologize. Maybe I was out of line and took it too far, not thinking about the late stages of, you know… his condition.
Yeah, like Joe Biden! I don’t want people to look at me and think that I’m trying to make a joke out of this even though I’m laughing right now. But again, I apologize. I’m a bigger man.”
For now, the war of words between Booker T and Dave Meltzer doesn’t appear to be cooling down anytime soon — and if Meltzer decides to respond publicly, this story could easily take another turn.
