Bobby Lashley’s return timeline may still be unclear — but there’s now a major update regarding his contract status.
While questions have continued to swirl about Lashley’s injury and extended absence from television, Self Made Pro revealed new details during a Self Made Session on February 23, 2026 about the length of his deal. According to the report, Lashley had signed a two year deal with AEW, but it’s expected AEW added injury time to it.
“Bobby Lashley — I was told that Bobby signed a two-year deal. At the moment because he’s injured, so if anything, they would add time to his contract. But he was someone I was told had signed a two-year agreement.”
That clarification provides context amid the uncertainty surrounding his recovery. Lashley, who signed with AEW in October 2024 following MVP and Shelton Benjamin joining the company, has been sidelined for longer than initially expected.
Back in January 2026, Sean Ross Sapp noted that early projections suggested Lashley wouldn’t miss much time. However, as weeks turned into months without a return, the outlook changed towards a longer absence — reportedly based on time passing rather than a newly disclosed medical setback.
There’s still no official word on the nature of Lashley’s injury or when he’ll return, but contract-wise, it doesn’t appear AEW is in danger of losing him anytime soon.
