Blake Monroe may have left AEW behind, but he hasn’t forgotten the numbers — and he made sure to point them out.
While appearing on The Masked Man Show, Monroe seemingly took a jab at his former company when he compared TV audiences, making it clear that WWE NXT is already giving him a bigger platform than anything he had before.
“I mean to date, NXT has the highest viewership of any show I’ve been on,” Monroe said, sending a not-so-subtle message about his AEW run and the level of exposure WWE offers.
She wasn’t done there. Monroe explained why starting in NXT was a smart move instead of jumping straight to the main roster, emphasizing how massive WWE’s reach truly is compared to where he came from.
“I think as well, you have to consider that WWE is so huge, the amount of TV equity that Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair… they have millions of followers and all of this TV equity,” he said. “I know I can go toe-to-toe with them, but I feel like, why wouldn’t I go to NXT to continue to build my brand, continue to introduce [myself to] the WWE Universe?”
Monroe admitted that many WWE fans might not know who he is yet, which is exactly why NXT is the perfect launchpad.
“They may know me, they probably don’t, I don’t think any of these kids know me or anything. Tell them who I am and also make NXT my brand because I truly feel like I am doing that and can do that.”
He also praised the hands-on experience he’s getting at the WWE Performance Center, highlighting his access to Hall of Fame-level minds.
“Why wouldn’t I take that opportunity and get that TV equity, build up myself in WWE, use the resources and be able to talk to Shawn [Michaels], Matt Bloom, and all of these amazing coaches?”
Whether she meant it as a shot at AEW or not, Blake Monroe made it clear — she sees NXT as the real spotlight, and she’s not looking back.
