Blair Davenport’s WWE exit caught a lot of fans off guard—but according to her, it wasn’t just sudden, it happened right before she was supposed to start a major storyline.
During her appearance on That Sweet Pop, Davenport (real name Bea Priestley) opened up about the original plans WWE had for her—plans that included a faction with Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. She explained that everything was set, from creative direction to character presentation. Wardrobe was being discussed, her TV alignment was scheduled, and she was told she’d be very active in the coming weeks. She recalled the moment things felt locked in:
“I had one of the writers come to me talking to us about what they want me and Piper to be wearing, how they want us to behave, like all the gimmicks, all this stuff. Like, it was—it was happening.”
The actual debut pitch was reportedly mapped out to mirror how Alba Fyre joined forces with Isla Dawn. Davenport was supposed to interfere in a match and side with Chelsea Green by costing Michin (Mia Yim) a win. WWE’s plan was to establish her as part of a chaotic heel alliance.
“They said, ‘In two weeks, we’re going to be doing Chelsea and Michin. You’re coming in costing Michin and joining Chelsea.’ You know, that was exactly how they did it with Alba.”
Then, shockingly, less than a week later, it all fell apart. Davenport was released before anything hit television.
“And I was like, ‘Cool.’ And then six days later, I don’t have a job.”
To make matters even more surreal, Davenport already had travel arrangements in place for WWE’s European tour and had been told she’d be “super busy.” Despite the level of prep involved, she received no storyline resolution and no follow-up from the company.
Since then, Davenport has returned to STARDOM and seems to be enjoying herself, but this latest update only adds fuel to fans’ frustrations about WWE letting her go. With clear momentum and creative behind her, she was stripped of a moment that could’ve changed the trajectory of her run.
