Hausman asks Bischoff to comment on the fact that some fans were upset about WWE giving away Cena vs. Nakamura on free television. Bischoff says that loading up RAW or Smackdown Live once a month is a great way to stimulate interest in WWE’s television programming. Bischoff faced similar criticism when he chose to book Hogan/Goldberg for an episode of Nitro, but much like WWE today, Nitro needed a ratings boost at that time. He admits that you can do that type of match every week, and it certainly does come at a cost.
Bischoff says that he loved Nakamura going over in that match because he’s a fresh face in the WWE Championship picture. He adds that Cena will soon be gone again anyways to begin filming his next film. Bischoff points out that Cena and WWE must be careful during his matches now, because Hollywood will not be happy if Cena gets hurt and has to delay or back out of a filming project.
Hausman informs that WWE appears to be applying for trademarks for Taboo Tuesday. Bischoff says he doesn’t know why, but that concept just didn’t work years ago. In today’s social media age, you’d think it would work very well. Hausman adds that perhaps only WWE Network subscribers will be able to vote for the choices as an added incentive to subscribe and Bischoff agrees.
