Bischoff on Wrestling Recap – Bobby Heenan’s Passing, Hulk Hogan’s Loyalty in WCW, Will The Rock be the Next President? More!

Bischoff and Hausman discuss some elements of the September 14th, 1998 episode of WCW Monday Nitro.

Hausman mentions that Dave Meltzer wrote about this episode at the time, and in his article he implied that Ernest ‘The Cat’ Miller was inept as an in-ring performer and on the mic. Bischoff says that Meltzer is a ‘leach’ and a ‘parasite’ who has no idea what he’s talking about. In Bischoff’s opinion, Ernest Miller is one of the most underrated in-ring performers of his era.

Hausman asks Bischoff if there was any real heat between Bret Hart and Hulk Hogan during this time, because Hart has said some negative things about Hogan over the last couple of years. Bischoff says that Hart “…is a weird dude who needs someone to bitch about”. Bischoff has a lot of respect for Hart in many ways, but Hart has a pattern of consistently finding someone to hate.

Bischoff says that it was very interesting woking with The Warrior around this time. Warrior was full of energy 24/7 and while he was pleasurable to work with, it was also very exhausting. Bischoff continues by saying that Warrior was very passionate and also very creative. While he was hard to follow sometimes, Bischoff would rather be around someone like Warrior who has passion, instead of someone like Bret Hart who often appeared uninterested in anything happening around him.

Hausman asks Bischoff about The Disciple. Bischoff says The Disciple was formerly known as Brutus ‘The Barber’ Beefcake, and he was a parasite that Bischoff was forced to hire based on his lengthy friendship with Hulk Hogan. He was only there because Hulk Hogan is one of the most loyal, caring people Bischoff has ever met.
