Bill Goldberg

Bill Goldberg, born William Scott Goldberg on December 27, 1966, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is one of the most explosive and dominant figures in professional wrestling history. Known simply as Goldberg, he rose to fame in WCW during the late 1990s with an unprecedented undefeated streak and a no-nonsense, high-impact style that made him a household name almost overnight.

Bill Goldberg Personal Life

Goldberg’s athletic roots began in football—he played defensive tackle for the University of Georgia and had brief stints in the NFL with teams including the Atlanta Falcons. After a career-ending injury, he transitioned into wrestling, debuting in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1997.

Goldberg went on a legendary 173-match undefeated streak in WCW and captured the WCW World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Hulk Hogan in 1998. His quick, hard-hitting matches—highlighted by the spear and Jackhammer—became his signature.

He later joined WWE, where he won the World Heavyweight Championship, WWE Universal Championship (2x), and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame (2018). He had multiple return runs in WWE, most recently competing through 2022, before stepping away from in-ring action.
