AEW Full Gear is November 7th, and they have arranged an 8-man single elimination tournament with the finals taking place on the next pay-per=view. That tournament to decide a new #1 contender for the AEW World Title will start next week.
Dave Meltzer confirmed on F4WOnline that the tournament will kick off during the next show. The first round will feature four matches, and there are some good combinations included in the lineup.
- Kenny Omega vs. Joey Janela
- Penta El Zero M vs. Rey Fenix
- Kenny Omega vs. Joey Janela
- Wardlow vs. Jungle Boy
- Colt Cabana vs. Hangman Page
The company already had a few matches and segments booked for this week’s AEW Dynamite. Britt Baker will be in action, but her opponent wasn’t revealed. Private Party, Silver & Reynolds, Butcher & Blade, and The Young Bucks will also have a four-way tag team match to determine new #1 contenders.
We’re also all waiting to see how the “Le Dinner Debonair” goes with Chris Jericho and MJF.
