The situation involving a fake AI video of AJ Lee being kissed at a wrestling convention just escalated—with Big Event NY releasing a hard-hitting official statement in response to the backlash.

Earlier this week, a so-called fan named Chris Horror used AI to fabricate a video making it look like AJ Lee was pulled in for a kiss at The Big Event NY Expo in November 2025. After AJ herself condemned the clip and Big Event NY confirmed the fan was permanently banned, the promotion has now issued a full statement laying out a strict policy for future incidents.

In a Facebook post, Big Event NY didn’t hold back about what went down—or what will happen moving forward to anyone who tries to manipulate their events with AI or similar tech.

“As most of you have seen, The Big Event has been making headlines for the past 48 hours for the wrong reasons. This isn’t a discussion regarding the positive or negative uses of AI, but if you use AI or any other type of manipulation to misrepresent the experience you had at the show that paints our guests or our fans in a negative or compromising way, you will be banned from all future events, one strike, no appeal.”

They emphasized that their mission is to create meaningful experiences between fans and talent—but those moments must be real, not digitally forged.

“We want everyone who comes to have a memorable experience, a REAL memorable experience, and not create a false narrative that ruins future opportunities and moments for our fans. The celebrities and talent that take time out of their schedule do it because they appreciate the fans that made this all possible, so please, respect the talent, not only during the show, but outside of it as well.”

AJ Lee previously labeled the video as “inappropriate” and “harassment”, and this update makes it clear that the convention scene is taking the issue seriously. Big Event NY’s message sends a warning to anyone considering using AI to fake interactions—there will be consequences, and they won’t be up for debate.

Are wrestling conventions doing enough to protect talent from AI abuse and digital manipulation? What kind of policies should be in place to stop this behavior before it happens? Share your thoughts in the comments.
