Belief AJ Lee WWE Return at SummerSlam in New Jersey Could Rival CM Punk’s Comeback

Zelina Vega isn’t holding back when it comes to her thoughts on AJ Lee possibly returning to WWE.

During her appearance on Ten Count Wrestling, Vega drew a striking comparison between CM Punk’s 2023 return and what could happen if AJ Lee steps back into the ring.

“I think especially if she, because she’s from Jersey, so if she came back at SummerSlam, it would be like colossal. That would be insane,” Vega said.

The reigning United States Champion emphasized that Lee’s comeback would evoke the same fan frenzy that Punk did two years ago.

“I feel like the same fans who were so hungry for CM Punk to come back are the same ones that are going to be so hungry for her to come back,” she explained. “So, I don’t know if it’s going to be bigger or, you know, less or whatever, but I think it’ll probably be about the same.”

Vega, who once portrayed AJ Lee in the film Fighting with My Family, noted that not only do fans want to see Lee back, but the WWE locker room is also ready to welcome her with open arms.

“Not only does she have fans that are so happy to see her back, but a lot of us backstage too. We loved her,” Vega said. “I hope that she does come back because I’d love to see her.”

AJ Lee last made a WWE appearance in 2015, but her name continues to come up in conversations about possible returns. With SummerSlam set for her home state of New Jersey, some believe it could be the perfect stage for her to make a monumental comeback.
