Becky Lynch debuted a new entrance theme at SummerSlam 2025, and while fans were hyped to hear “The Man has come around” blare through the arena, it turns out the song carries far more meaning than just a catchy hook.

During her Intercontinental Title defense against Lyra Valkyria at MetLife Stadium, Lynch debuted a bold new theme that opened with the line “The Man has come around.” It was more than a fresh track—her entire entrance package was revamped, including the words “Becky Lynch held down by The Man” displayed onscreen.

But the true meaning of the music was revealed weeks later on the January 20, 2026 episode of WWE Unreal Season 2, where Lynch opened up about how the song came to be—and the emotional punch packed in one hidden lyric. Lynch explained that she didn’t want to ease into a new identity—she wanted a hard shift.

“We’re not doing the old music, no. We’re just going straight into it. We were debuting my new entrance music by The Wonder Years, who are one of my favorite bands.”

She personally reached out to lead singer Dan Campbell, unsure of what the response would be. To her surprise, Campbell replied almost immediately.

“I reached out to The Wonder Years because I’m a huge fan. I messaged Dan Campbell, the singer-songwriter, and I was like, ‘Man, would you guys be interested in doing my song if you can?’ Two seconds later he wrote back, ‘F*** yeah, we’d love to!’ Within like two days, he had written this absolute banger of a song.”

But it wasn’t just the music or the vibe that struck a chord. The lyrics were packed with hidden nods—one of which left Becky stunned mid-entrance. That line immediately took Lynch back to a personal memory. The last time WWE ran MetLife Stadium, her father had been in the crowd. He passed away in 2021.

“He put a lot of little Easter eggs into it. One of the lines is, ‘I talk to your ghost every night.’ When that hit, I looked over to where my dad had been sitting six years ago. The last time we were at MetLife, my dad was there, and that moment really got to me emotionally.”

What began as a creative decision turned into a tribute—an emotional nod to family, memory, and identity—all woven into a pop-punk anthem written in under 48 hours. Becky’s new theme isn’t just a song; it’s a story—crafted with urgency, passion, and personal meaning.
