The Beast Mortos isn’t slowing down—and neither is AEW when it comes to giving him the spotlight.

Less than two weeks after news broke confirming his relationship with AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné, Mortos is once again finding himself in the middle of major matches, and the timing has people raising eyebrows.

It all started when Mortos replaced Claudio Castagnoli in the AEW Grand Slam: Mexico main event, teaming with The Death Riders and The Young Bucks against a stacked lineup featuring Will Ospreay, Swerve Strickland, Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata. The change came right before showtime, with no official explanation—but it didn’t go unnoticed.

That same week, TMZ confirmed Mortos and Moné are officially dating, after Mortos posted a viral Instagram Story showing Moné smiling next to him. His face was partially hidden, but his caption made the message crystal clear.

“In your arms I find peace.”

He paired the post with the Spanish love song “El amor de su vida” — translating to “The love of his life.” Moné later addressed the rumors herself, telling TMZ:

“It’s a real beauty and the beast situation.”

For Moné, it’s her first public relationship since splitting from Sarath Ton, a breakup she confirmed happened nearly a year ago after their separation in late 2020.

Now Mortos is back in the spotlight again, and the timing couldn’t be more interesting. Just over an hour before the June 25 episode of AEW Dynamite went live, Tony Khan took to Twitter to announce Mortos would face former World Champion Hangman Adam Page live on the show. Mortos hasn’t exactly been known for landing high-profile singles matches—until the Mercedes Moné headlines started circulating.

“Hangman Page vs @BeastMortos… After aligning with the Death Riders + The Elite to win the main event last Wednesday in Arena México, Beast Mortos will fight vs #1 contender to the World Title Hangman Page TONIGHT!”

AEW hasn’t officially tied Mortos’ recent push to his relationship with Moné, but fans online are connecting the dots. Mortos’ mysterious persona and real-life story—a former vet tech, nurse, and soon-to-be lawyer—only add fuel to the curiosity surrounding him.

And with Moné holding major titles across AEW, RevPro, and EWA, it’s hard to ignore how fast Mortos is climbing the ladder—both professionally and personally.
