Bayley is keeping it real about her finishing move—and she’s not offended if you’re not a fan.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, the WWE Women’s Champion opened up about The Rose Plant, her current finisher that’s drawn a mixed reaction from fans. It’s a throwback to her indie days—an arm-trap headlock driver she used before signing with WWE—but not everyone’s loving the move now that it’s back on TV. Including, at times, Bayley herself.

“Everyone hates my finish, huh? Sorry guys,” she said. “It was a finish that I did on the indies.”

When asked why she thinks it hasn’t clicked with fans, Bayley didn’t hold back: “I don’t know. The setup is really hard. Sometimes I’m like trying to figure out where to put it, or how to get into it. I’m like, ‘Man, this is annoying. This move sucks.’”

Still, she defended the move’s potential when executed smoothly. “I think it’s hard to get into sometimes, but when I get smooth ways to do it, it comes out really good.”

As for why she moved away from her original WWE finisher, the Bayley-to-Belly? That one, she said, just didn’t fit her anymore. “I thought the Bayley-to-Belly was very gimmicky,” she admitted.

Bayley’s honesty is a breath of fresh air in a world where most finishers are treated as untouchable. And whether you love it or hate it, The Rose Plant might just be here to stay—at least until she finds something that doesn’t, in her words, “suck.”
