Baron Corbin left WWE last year after the company chose not to renew his deal. Since then, fans have been wondering which major wrestling company he might join next, especially thinking about AEW. In fact, Corbin has now revealed the conditions that would need to be met for him to sign with AEW.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Baron Corbin talked about the idea of joining AEW after leaving WWE. He made it clear that he knows AEW has its own style and loyal fans. If he ever went there, he wouldn’t want to be seen as just another former WWE wrestler.

Instead, he would rather wrestle in New Japan for a year or more and maybe even stay there. Corbin said that if he took that path, he would want to move on from his WWE past, stating that “Baron Corbin” would no longer exist.

“As far as AEW, their fans, they like that AEW in a sense, you know it’s its own entity and built from the ground up. If I went there, out of respect for that world, I wouldn’t want to be just another WWE guy that came there because they left WWE. I would rather go and do New Japan for a year or more. Who knows, maybe that’s where I love it and stay there for the rest of my career. So, if I ever did go that route, I would want to kind of clear that “Oh, he’s a WWE guy.” Baron Corbin is dead as far as we know.”
