Bad Bunny hasn’t stepped inside a WWE ring since his San Juan Street Fight with Damian Priest at Backlash 2023 — but that could change soon if the door remains open as wide as Priest says it is.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest made it clear that the ball is in Bad Bunny’s court. He emphasized that the Grammy-winning artist knows the commitment it takes to perform in the ring and would only return when he’s fully prepared — mentally and physically.
“I mean, that’s up to him, you know, as far as like when he’s ready physically and mentally. Easy for me to say next week, but he has to be actually ready, and I know the way he is—he’d want to do it properly and train properly. So, whenever he’s down, you know, he’s always welcome, right?”
Priest didn’t hesitate to show respect for Bunny’s work ethic, stating he knows the Puerto Rican superstar wouldn’t half-step when it comes to training and delivering a real performance. That level of professionalism, Priest implied, is what earns Bunny an open invite back into WWE anytime he wants.
The two made history together at Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico, where Bad Bunny shocked fans with how much he could hang with a full-time WWE star. And now, with Priest holding championship gold, the stakes could be even bigger if they run it back.
Bad Bunny’s return is now a matter of “when,” not “if.”
