Backstage Update on Challengers for the WWE Universal Title

As previously noted, Brock Lesnar will make his return to WWE at the Great Balls of Fire event to defend his WWE Universal Championship.

Dave Meltzer reported in today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that everything with Brock in regards to opponents for the match is “up in the air.” Meltzer pointed out that at one point Strowman was the key contender for Lesnar and Rollins and Balor will eventually get a shot at the championship between now and next year’s WrestleMania 34 event.

Meltzer also mentioned that Lesnar will be defending the championship way more this time around than his previous title reign.
