Seth Rollins’s bizarre masked men segment on the March 9 episode of WWE Raw apparently didn’t just confuse viewers — it also got some laughs behind the scenes.
During the March 11, 2026 episode of Fightful’s The Hump, Sean Ross Sapp revealed that several within WWE reached out to him after watching the bizarre masked segment from the March 9 edition of WWE Raw.
According to Sapp, the messages he received all had one thing in common — people comparing the moment to a very familiar group of TV villains: “I had people in WWE sending me things like the Power Rangers putty patrol stuff, mocking it.” He also made it clear the comparison wasn’t a one-off joke: “But yeah, I got a lot of those sent to me.”
The show kicked off with Adam Pearce addressing Rollins and warning him about the dangerous situation he’s created for himself after attacking Paul Heyman the previous week.
But before the conversation could go very far, a group of masked men suddenly flooded the ring. After a chaotic “shell game” moment with the identical masks, Rollins revealed himself from one of the disguised figures before slipping away again during another wave of masked distractions. The visual immediately caught fans’ attention online — and apparently some people inside WWE had the same reaction viewers did.
For anyone unfamiliar with the joke, the “Putty Patrol” refers to the henchmen characters from the classic Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, which many fans said the masked group looked suspiciously similar to. Love it or hate it, the segment definitely got people talking — both on social media and inside WWE itself.
Do you think Seth Rollins’ masked RAW segment worked for the storyline, or did it end up looking more like a Power Rangers scene than a WWE angle? Let us know your thoughts and leave your feedback below.
