Backstage Reaction to Kane Going Over Finn Balor on RAW

During the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed WWE’s decision to have Kane go over Finn Balor on Monday’s episode of RAW.

Meltzer mentioned that he asked around and said that people that normally defend Vince McMahon’s decisions have no explanation as why Kane had to destroy Balor on the show. Meltzer pointed out that the company has a whole roster full of talent and questioned why WWE would book Balor this way, especially as he gained massive momentum when he defeated AJ Styles at WWE TLC this  past Sunday.

Balor took three chokeslams from Kane and lost the match. Many fans didn’t understand the decision to mitigate Balor’s momentum the very next night, and it seems that is the same feeling backstage.
