Becky Lynch is earning serious praise inside WWE—not just for her performance at WrestlePalooza, but for a pattern that’s now impossible to ignore.
According to a new update from Fightful Select, Lynch has quietly become the trusted hand WWE turns to when it comes to guiding returning stars through major matches.
During AJ Lee’s first match in over a decade—also the longest of her career—Lynch played a critical role backstage and in the ring. WWE sources say the match wouldn’t have flowed the same without her.
“Becky Lynch wrestled alongside Seth Rollins, CM Punk and AJ Lee in AJ Lee’s first match in over a decade, and the longest match of AJ Lee’s career. WWE sources that we spoke to said that they felt the match went well, and there was a lot of specific credit given to Becky Lynch helping lead AJ Lee after ten years. It’s become something that Becky has gained a reputation for.”
That reputation is well-earned. The report also mentions that Lynch previously helped Lita at Elimination Chamber 2022, carried a full feud with Trish Stratus in 2023, and worked a return match with Nikki Bella at Clash in Paris earlier this year.
WWE sources went further, pointing out that this isn’t just about Lynch being capable—it’s about her being the one returning wrestlers actually request.
“Sources in the company say that Becky Lynch has always looked at it as a welcome challenge, and that the company has trusted her to excel in those situations. We’re told that it is at the point that a number of women’s wrestlers that have mounted comebacks have requested working with Becky Lynch as well.”
While AJ Lee got the tap-out moment over Lynch on camera, behind the curtain, it’s Becky who continues to lead the way—literally. Her ability to anchor matches with returning stars has reportedly made her an irreplaceable asset when WWE looks to revisit the past with its legends.
