Fans were utterly shocked at WWE Elimination Chamber when John Cena turned heel and joined forces with The Rock. Rapper Travis Scott played a role in that moment, but he legitimately injured Cody Rhodes after bursting his eardrum and now WWE’s internal reaction to Scott injuring Rhodes has been revealed.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Travis Scott’s involvement in the segment and injuring Cody Rhodes led to a lot of heat backstage. Many felt he should not have been there or put in that situation. Some backstage sources said Scott was told to make the moment look good, but he went too far.
WWE has considered booking Travis Scott for future matches, as he has been training for in-ring competition. To make things even more interesting, Triple H recently posted backstage footage of Travis Scott after the event, where he was clearly being treated well by Triple H, The Rock and others.
Unsurprisingly, Travis Scott was also accused of reckless behavior after injuring Cody Rhodes during the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event. While Travis Scott’s involvement was meant to bring mainstream attention, Cody Rhodes’ injury has now raised concerns.
Nonetheless, we’ll have to wait and see if action will be taken against Scott in the future, as that seems unlikely at the moment. After all, he will remain an integral part of the Road to WrestleMania 41.
