The online battle between Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill just got a backstage clarification — and it’s not nearly as chaotic as some feared.
After the two went back and forth on social media ahead of their WrestleMania showdown, Many within WWE initially believed the exchange started as a playful work. However, things reportedly shifted when Cargill referenced Ripley speaking with creative for extended periods of time.
According to Fightful Select, that specific mention raised eyebrows internally. One creative source reportedly stated:
“We would never include a mention of creative as a part of that, it undermines the point.”
That line is key. While some talent were puzzled by bringing creative into the public feud, WWE as a whole was said to be pleased with the reaction the exchange generated. The perception that Ripley and Cargill might legitimately dislike each other created significant engagement.
Despite speculation that the situation spiraled into something real, there is reportedly no concern internally about the two working together at WrestleMania. WWE sources indicated they believe both women will handle business professionally.
In short — even if the tone shifted mid-stream, the company appears satisfied with the attention it created.
