WWE has officially confirmed Ava’s departure from the company by removing her from the active roster and relocating her profile to the alumni section of WWE.com.
Ava—real name Simone Johnson and daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson—announced her WWE exit on January 30. She revealed that the January 27 episode of NXT marked her final on-screen appearance and confirmed that she opted not to renew her contract.
“This past Tuesday was my last appearance on NXT & subsequently WWE. Thank you to all who have cheered, watched, and supported me through my journey. While my decision to not renew my contract was very difficult, it’s also a new turning point in my life. It has been an honor & a privilege to be Ava.”
Ava signed with WWE in February 2020 and made her television debut in October 2022 as a member of The Schism faction. After the group dissolved, she stepped into a backstage authority role, eventually becoming the youngest General Manager in WWE history in January 2024. WWE’s update to its official website now confirms her exit is final.
Ava’s next move remains unknown—but she’s already made history as a fourth-generation talent and authority figure, leaving the door wide open for what comes next.
