Fans hoping to see Asuka back in the WWE ring will have to wait even longer.
According to BodySlam.net’s Cassidy Haynes, the former WWE Women’s Champion isn’t expected to return for at least a couple more months, meaning she’ll likely miss WrestleMania 41.
WWE is reportedly taking a cautious approach with her recovery after she suffered a knee injury nearly nine months ago. Haynes noted, “WWE is prioritizing a post-WrestleMania return, given that creative plans for the event are already set.”
Asuka has been out of action since undergoing knee surgery last year. She worked through the injury for months, including during the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship loss at Backlash France in April 2024 against Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. After announcing she was stepping away for surgery, Asuka kept fans updated on her rehab through vlogs on her YouTube channel.
In January, it was reported that creative plans—including a potential tag team match—were pitched for Asuka, but they were ultimately scrapped. There has been no word on her training at the WWE Performance Center, and she hasn’t shared any major recovery updates recently.
With WrestleMania 41 on the horizon, it looks like WWE will hold off on Asuka’s return until after the show. While there’s no official date for her comeback, fans will be eager to see what’s next for her when she does make her way back.
