Asuka hasn’t been seen on WWE television since May 2024, and now fans finally have a clearer picture of when she might be back. After undergoing knee surgery last year, the Empress of Tomorrow has remained sidelined, leaving fans wondering when she’ll return to action.
During a recent Q&A session, WrestleVotes was asked about Asuka’s recovery timeline. The update was short but clear:
“Asuka—they’re hopeful by the end of the year. They wanted her for WrestleMania; it didn’t work, obviously, since she’s not cleared at the moment. So, they’re hopeful.”
Asuka was originally considered for a spot at WrestleMania 41, but her recovery progress made that impossible. The company is now aiming to have her back sometime before 2025 ends, depending on when she gets cleared to compete.
Asuka’s last WWE match took place on the May 3, 2024, episode of SmackDown, where she teamed up with Kairi Sane and Dakota Kai in a six-woman tag match against Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Jade Cargill. That was just days before she stepped away due to injury.
WWE fans continue to express how much they miss Asuka’s presence on television, and this latest update offers a bit of hope that her long-awaited return could finally happen later this year.
