WWE’s Empress of Tomorrow just got the most unexpected tribute, and her reaction proves she’s still keeping tabs on the next generation—even from the sidelines.

Asuka, who’s been sidelined since suffering an injury at WWE Backlash in May 2024, recently learned that NXT Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer named her pet cat “Asuka.” And yes, the real Asuka is completely here for it.

In a tweet that melted fans’ hearts, Asuka responded, “I was so happy when I found out you named your cat after me — seriously, that means a lot 🐈❤️.”

She didn’t stop there either. Asuka admitted she’s been paying attention to Vaquer’s rise in NXT. “To be honest… I’ve been quietly checking out @Steph_Vaquer for a while now 👀. Among all the fresh stars, you stood out — something about you felt special, like you had a big future ahead ✨ (And now? Even more so!)”

Then, in true Asuka fashion, she added a playful twist. “You might not be interested (lol) 🤣 but I’d love to invite you to my private arcade 🎮 Let’s play some games! I’ll show you around Kyoto, Osaka, and Tokyo too 🗾❤️”

The tweet was capped off with a GIF reminding everyone—cat or human—nobody is ready for Asuka.

Vaquer recently vacated the NXT Women’s North American Championship and is now preparing to defend the NXT Women’s Championship at Stand & Deliver on April 19. But this unexpected cat-themed moment between two of WWE’s most captivating women just stole the spotlight.

Would you want to see Asuka and Stephanie Vaquer eventually team up—or face off—in the ring? And how cool is it to have a cat named after a wrestling legend? Drop your thoughts in the comments below.
