Asuka has achieved a lot in WWE, winning multiple Women’s Championships, showing she has had great success. That’s why it’s no surprise she expressed her frustration with a fan who suggested she needed a win at WrestleMania.
Asuka went on Twitter to talk about how her accomplishments, including in the Royal Rumble, are part of history. She mentioned that her name is brought up every year when the Royal Rumble takes place. Asuka also said that her many records are so well known now that people often see them as just part of her story, but even achieving one of them is a huge achievement.
“I, the first-ever women’s winner of the WWE’s major event, the Royal Rumble, have been etched into history. That’s why my name comes up every year when the Royal Rumble is held. I am also full of records and have been etched into history so much that it’s often thought of as just one of many events… but normally, achieving even just one of those is a great feat 😤”
A fan then took to Twitter and told Asuka they are begging her to get at least one win at WrestleMania and stay undefeated there for the rest of her career, saying she has some catching up to do.
“Asuka I’m begging you please get at least one WrestleMania win 😭 preferably go undefeated at WrestleMania for the rest of your career, got some catching up to do”
Asuka responded by saying that every time she achieves something or sets a new record, people always focus on what she hasn’t done yet and remind her of it. She’s tired of this mindset and wants people to stop obsessing over what she hasn’t accomplished. She also wondered if a WrestleMania win or loss should be treated like winning the Royal Rumble, calling the whole thing ridiculous.
“Every time I achieve a victory or set a record, people desperately search for what I haven’t obtained yet and say, “You still don’t have this.” That system is endless, and I’m sick of it. I want them to stop obsessively looking for what I haven’t achieved. Their way of thinking is just too negative. Was a WrestleMania win or loss ever considered a title like winning the Royal Rumble? This is just an issue that someone forcefully brought up against me. It’s absolutely ridiculous.”
It is to be noted that Asuka currently has a 0-6 record at WrestleMania, so she really hasn’t won a match at the Show of Shows yet. In the meantime, Asuka remains absent from WWE television after undergoing surgery for her knee injury last year. Therefore, we’ll have to see if she can return in time for WrestleMania 41 and pick up her first win at WrestleMania.
Should fans focus more on Asuka’s accomplishments rather than what she hasn’t done yet? Do you think WrestleMania wins define a Superstar’s legacy? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
