Ashante Thee Adonis could be heading to TNA Wrestling next. The former WWE star became a free agent on August 10 when his contract officially expired, and word is already spreading that TNA talent want him in their locker room.
According to those in WWE via Fightful Select, Ashante — also known as Tehuti Miles — was informed a couple of weeks before his deal ran out that the company wouldn’t be renewing it. While he had been working in NXT over the last year, he was still on a WWE main roster contract. Those in NXT spoke highly of his dedication, noting that “in addition to working at the Performance Center, he was going out and training on his own time as well.”
TNA’s interest comes as no surprise. Ashante wrestled there earlier this year in January, facing Jake Something, and made a strong impression. Before joining WWE, he also had matches in ROH under previous ownership and was a regular with MCW.
With no non-compete clause in place, Ashante is free to appear anywhere immediately, and a return to TNA seems like a real possibility. If it happens, it would mark his first official run with the company after years of building his name across multiple promotions.
