Ash by Elegance just made her return to TNA Wrestling, but she admits the comeback wasn’t something she thought was going to happen—at least not this fast.
During her interview with Denise Salcedo, Ash opened up about how close she came to walking away from wrestling entirely. After being forced to vacate the Knockouts Championship for personal reasons, she wasn’t sure a return was even in the cards.
“I definitely didn't think I was going to return… especially this quick.”
The time away gave her a chance to reflect and finally prioritize her own well-being. After spending most of her life putting others ahead of herself, she realized it was time to make her mental and physical health the top priority.
“You know, when everything had transpired, I kind of had to mentally soul search. And I was able to really just dig deep and know that I really needed to focus on myself—where I’ve always, in my entire life personally and in business, have put others first. At this time, I needed to put myself first and prioritize things that were very important to my life, wrestling being the one thing.”
Ash credits a lifetime in sports for helping her maintain direction and purpose, even through one of the most uncertain periods of her career.
“I've ever only been super active, whether it be in gymnastics, diving, bodybuilding, wrestling—sports has always been my life. And that's always kind of kept me in a positive direction.”
Now cleared and back in the ring, Ash is embracing this new chapter with a mindset rooted in strength, clarity, and self-worth. Ash’s return isn’t just about reclaiming titles—it’s about reclaiming herself. And as she puts it, it’s one step at a time.
Are you glad to see Ash back in action? Do you think more wrestlers should speak openly about prioritizing mental health and burnout? Drop your thoughts in the comments below—we’d love to hear from you.
