AEW star Anthony Bowens won’t be appearing on tonight’s AEW Collision in Athens, GA, as the Palisades Fire forced him to evacuate his home in California. Bowens took to Twitter to share the news, assuring fans that he and his partner, Michael, are safe for now.

“Hey everyone, I unfortunately won’t be making it to Collision today. The #PalisadesFire started moving towards my home last night and as a precaution Michael and I had to pack up and leave the area. We are safe and so is the neighborhood as of now. Hopefully it stays that way. Shout out to the LAFD for working so hard to try and slow the spread of this fire down. ✂️”

Bowens’ absence adds to the travel challenges AEW is facing for tonight’s event, with a winter storm causing over 1,100 flight cancellations and delays in the Atlanta area. Despite these hurdles, AEW has confirmed that the show will go on, with stars like Mariah May, Adam Copeland, and Chris Jericho making their way to Athens.

While fans will miss seeing Bowens in action, his safety and that of his community are the top priorities. His heartfelt message highlighted the hard work of firefighters battling the blaze, as well as the unpredictable realities of balancing life and wrestling.
