Another name has quietly exited WWE’s developmental system. Zara Zakher, who was scouted for WWE’s Independent Development program earlier this year, has confirmed that her contract has expired—and she’s stepping away from the wrestling business for now.
On October 10, Zakher took to Twitter to share the news directly with fans. While she didn’t close the door on a possible return, she made it clear that she’s hitting pause.
“As of today, my contract with WWE ID has expired, and I’ll be taking a step back from wrestling. I’m so grateful for all the people I’ve met and everyone who’s supported me. I don’t know if or when I’ll be back, but I’m hopeful for the future. ❤️”
Zakher was one of the standout recruits of WWE’s revamped Independent Development initiative, which aimed to transition top indie prospects into the WWE system. She was originally scouted from Millennium Pro Wrestling and had wrestled for JCW, West Coast Pro Wrestling, TJPW, Prestige Wrestling, and the NJPW Academy Showcase.
Her departure adds to a wave of exits from the developmental ranks, including Lance Anoa’i, Drako Knox, and Stevie Turner—all confirmed to be done with WWE on the same day. As the WWE ID program continues to evolve, Zakher’s exit leaves fans wondering what her next move could be—if she decides to return to the ring at all.
