Andrade decided to set the record straight on reports that he walked out of a recent wrestling event in Mexico due to being “unhappy.”
Andrade took to Twitter and responded to Dave Meltzer’s report that he walked out of The Crash XIV Aniversario event in Mexico last Friday after his autograph signing because he was unhappy.
Andrade denied that he left due to any issue with the show and joked that he simply went to the well-known strip club in Tijuana, which was called Hong Kong Gentlemen’s Club. This is because going to HK ‘for the food’ is a known joke among the locals.
“I went to that Chinese place called HK!”
This comes after Meltzer claimed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Andrade had been scheduled for a meet-and-greet and then left the venue. Meltzer claimed that Andrade’s exit was due to being unhappy with something at the event, though the specific problem wasn’t made clear.
“Andrade, who was booked for The Crash’s XIV Aniversario show, left the event after fulfilling his meet-and-greet obligations. The reason for his abrupt departure was that he was unhappy with something at the show.”
Andrade is currently dealing with a one-year non-compete clause after his WWE departure, which has prevented him from working in AEW following his return last month on Dynamite. Regardless, Andrade clearly has no time to deal with false rumors about his recent wrestling appearances and so we’ll just have to see what’s next in store for him.
