Andrade has been at the center of a lot of talk over the past week after showing up in multiple promotions shortly after leaving WWE. This caused some trouble for AEW, and now he’s moved on to another company.
In a short span of time, Andrade appeared for House of Glory and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Those appearances led to questions about whether he was allowed to wrestle elsewhere and if his WWE deal had fully ended.
Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that people familiar with the situation that Andrade is eligible to sign with any promotion he wants. That includes AEW, TNA, AAA, and CMLL. His WWE contract officially ended around December 12.
The situation drew attention because WWE contracts usually include a year-long non compete clause. People who were aware of the talks said that clause was not expected to hold up.
It was reported that Rush introduced Andrade to an attorney and representative who has worked with WWE for years. That connection helped move discussions forward and played a role in the non compete being waived. Those involved said the situation was handled professionally by the time everything was said and done.
AEW has remained open about Andrade’s future. Tony Khan and people within AEW have stayed positive about a possible return and believed he would be back sooner rather than later. During the legal process with WWE, AEW worked to make the transition smoother and avoid added issues.
We will have to see what happens next with Andrade. He is certainly getting a lot of attention in the pro wrestling world. That may help him land a nice deal at the end of the day.
