A third-generation wrestler trained by his father Brillante (Sr.), Andrade debuted in 2003 as Brillante Jr. before rising to prominence in CMLL as La Sombra, where he became one of the sport’s top técnicos. He transitioned to WWE in 2015 as Andrade “Cien” Almas, capturing the NXT Championship and the WWE United States Championship. He later joined AEW in 2021 as Andrade El Ídolo, before surprising everyone by returning to WWE in January 2024 at the Royal Rumble under his current name, capturing titles like the WWE Speed Championship and United States Championship.
Andrade comes from a prominent lucha libre family; his father Brillante, grandfather El Moro, and several uncles and cousins are all or were professional wrestlers. He was in a high-profile relationship with WWE’s Charlotte Flair, getting engaged in 2020 and married in May 2022, before their divorce was finalized in October 2024.
Raised in Mexico, Andrade is proud of his heritage and incorporates cultural elements in his character and style. Off-screen, he enjoys fitness, travel, and mentoring younger wrestlers from his family’s wrestling lineage.
