December 16 marked what would have been the 46th birthday of former AEW star Brodie Lee — real name Jon Huber — and his widow, Amanda Huber, took to social media with a heartbreaking message that brought fans to tears.
She posted a deeply moving tribute on X/Twitter, sharing memories of Brodie and updating fans on the life and growth of their two sons — both of whom, she says, carry their father’s spirit.
“Happy birthday baby. I miss you all the time. I can’t believe it’s been five years of not celebrating your birthday with you. I’m making your cheesecake tonight and getting bagel dogs for dinner. Maybe some broccoli to balance it out.”
She then opened up about how much she still longs for even the briefest moment with him.
“I’d give just about anything to have one more day with you. Even just one more hour. To tell you how thankful I am for you. To tell you how much you changed my world. How much you taught me. How thankful I am for you giving me Brodie & Nolan. How thankful I am for everything… How much I love you.”
Amanda spoke at length about how much of Brodie she sees in their children, painting an emotional picture of a father whose legacy is living on every day.
“Brodie is incredible. His drive, passion, and work ethic is so impressive (and so familiar). He’s got your humor and has learned he can make me laugh even when he shouldn’t. He also looks so much like you it stops me in my tracks sometimes. Especially when he gives me the look when he’s over my shit. I see you.”
“Nolan is equally incredible. He’s so smart and marches to the beat of his own drum. I see so much of your personality in him. He enjoys his alone time and solitude. He would rather be around the dogs instead of people (also so familiar). Nolan has your smile. The smile that lights up his whole face. And your kind eyes ‘whatever that means.’ I see you.”
Happy birthday baby. I hope you and Bubs are having hot dogs and having a lazy day.”
Brodie Lee tragically passed away on December 26, 2020, due to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a rare and sudden non-COVID-related lung condition. His death shocked the wrestling world, leaving behind Amanda and their two sons, Brodie Jr. and Nolan. Five years later, Amanda is still honoring his memory in the most personal way.
Jon Huber was more than just a wrestler. He was a family man, a locker room leader, and someone universally respected by his peers in both AEW and WWE. His absence is still deeply felt, but Amanda’s words serve as a powerful reminder that his presence lives on through the lives of those who loved him most.
