Alexa Bliss got emotional while reflecting on her time working with Bray Wyatt, calling it the most fun she ever had in her WWE career.
In a recent interview with In The Kliq, , Bliss admitted she was nervous stepping into Wyatt’s world because of how much fans loved his creative direction.
“It was so fun. I always say it was the most fun I’ve ever had in my career because it was such a fun challenge. Because he—when I first joined with Bray—I remember thinking, ‘I don’t want to be the one to mess this up,’ because he had such a cool thing going with the Firefly Funhouse and the Wyatt Family and the whole thing. So for me, I was stepping into his world and I wasn’t going to be the one to bring it down.”
Bliss explained how Wyatt pushed her to do deep research in order to fully immerse herself in the role alongside him.
“I remember when I first started working with him, he gave me this whole—because he does deep dives on his characters, right? Deep, deep dives and all this research—and he was like, ‘Watch these documentaries, watch these scary movies, watch this, watch this, take notes on this.’”
She credited Wyatt with opening her eyes to character building on a whole different level.
“It really made me appreciate the fact that he never—he wasn’t just doing research on your character—he created a whole world for his character. And that was something that I took with me. You know, you have to know your character inside and out. You have to know where they grew up. You have to know the world that they live in. You have to know what is reality to them and not just what we see in front of us. And that was something that really opened my eyes character-wise.”
Bliss then summed up Wyatt’s rare creativity in wrestling.
“He was a creative genius. He saw the world of WWE in a different way than anyone else ever has. And he created this whole alternate universe within the WWE universe. And that was something that I found so fascinating.”
She recalled how fast his ideas flowed and how special it was to be part of his vision.
“And anytime he would start to talk about creative, it was like—you had to keep up—because his mind was just going. And it was so cool to not only witness but be a part of.”
Bliss also praised WWE for keeping his vision alive through new projects tied to his legacy.
“And the fact that, you know, we’re continuing his story with the Wyatt 6, and we have the horrors of the Wyatt 6 house at Universal [Studios], I think it’s so cool. And I just love that we’re keeping that—WWE as a whole—is just keeping his vision alive and keeping him alive in that. I think that he would be super happy with everything that we’re doing to, you know, keep it going.”
Bliss’s heartfelt words shine a light on just how deeply Bray Wyatt’s creative spirit touched those he worked with, leaving behind a lasting mark on WWE and its performers.
