Aleister Black has been part of the world of professional wrestling for well over two decades at this point. However, no one can wrestle forever and Black has now revealed how long he plans on wrestling.
While speaking during the Tom Budgen: Stillness in the Void documentary, Aleister Black said that at 39 years old, he believes he can keep wrestling for another five to eight years. He feels great physically and believes he looks better than ever.
Black mentioned that with new technology, better nutrition, and improvements in sports science, athletes today can perform well even as they get older. Black feels he is part of that group. Still, he knows that most of his wrestling career is already behind him.
“I’m 39. I have another five to eight years in me. Physically, I feel great. I think this is probably the best I’ve looked physically as well. You know, technology changes, nutrition changes, science changes, and sports science changes. You see athletes getting older and older and still being able to perform at higher levels even when they’re older, and I definitely feel that I’m part of that in a certain aspect. But I have no illusions about this — the majority of my career is well past me, absolutely.”
As for Aleister Black’s current career, he made his shocking return during the April 25 episode of WWE SmackDown, and he wasted no time dropping The Miz with a Black Mass. Afterwards, it was confirmed he will face The Miz in a singles match on next week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
