John Cena called his shot—and AJ Styles answered. Now Triple H has made it official.

After teasing the idea earlier, Cena took to social media and laid out a direct challenge for a showdown with AJ Styles. The 16-time World Champion told fans he doesn’t pick his own opponents, but he listens to what the WWE Universe wants.

“I do not choose my opponents, but I (even through tough times) ALWAYS listen to the fans. @AJStylesOrg are you listening? Better yet @TripleH ….. are YOU listening??? #CenaVsStyles”

AJ Styles wasted no time answering. He responded to Cena with a clear message of acceptance.

“I hear them loud and clear. Let’s do it, I’m ready!”

That set things in motion quickly. Within hours, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H stepped in and dropped the bombshell that fans have been waiting for. In a post featuring the official Crown Jewel poster, Triple H made it crystal clear:

“@JohnCena vs. @AJStylesOrg is a match we all want to see. And at #WWECrownJewel…we will.”

The rematch is set for Saturday, October 11 in Perth, Western Australia, streaming live on ESPN and Netflix. It marks the fifth singles encounter between Cena and Styles, who are currently tied 2–2 in their storied series.

Styles scored major wins over Cena at Money in the Bank and SummerSlam in 2016. Cena returned the favor with victories at the 2017 Royal Rumble, where he tied Ric Flair’s world title record, and again on SmackDown in February 2018.

Now, both legends will collide again on an international stage as part of Cena’s retirement tour—possibly for the final time.
