AJ Styles is shutting down the drama. After fans lit up social media accusing The Phenomenal One of stealing a move from the Young Bucks during the December 1st episode of WWE Raw, Styles has officially responded — and he’s not holding back.

The controversy kicked off after AJ Styles and Dragon Lee pulled off a slick slingshot-style maneuver on The New Day, leading directly into a brutal Styles Clash. The combo was eerily similar to a move frequently used by the Young Bucks — where one Buck launches the opponent for the other to finish with a Powerbomb. The only difference? Styles and Lee ended theirs with a Styles Clash.

One fan on Twitter posted both clips side by side, implying the WWE duo copied the AEW team’s signature tag move.

AJ Styles addressed the comparison and made it clear he wasn’t here for the ownership debate:

“In pro wrestling you can’t claim moves. They may be your signature, but those are still open to the public. Any confident wrestler wouldn’t ever change that. Calm down guys.”

A second fan chimed in, suggesting that it wasn’t about theft — just about paying homage to his former Bullet Club stablemates.

“Nobody is 'claiming' this maneuver, they are simply implying you are borrowing it from your friends and former stable-mates.”

AJ came back with a line that ended the conversation cold:

“But if we do it again, is that borrowing or stealing? The answer is….neither. The job is entertainment.”

No drama, no feud, just a firm reminder that pro wrestling has always been about reinvention, not ownership. Styles made it clear he has respect for the business — but nobody owns a move, no matter how flashy or familiar.

With Styles squashing the controversy and bringing it back to what matters — putting on a show — the debate might just fizzle out. Or not. Either way, The Phenomenal One isn’t losing sleep over it.
