AJ Styles is widely regarded as one of the best pro wrestlers by both fans and his peers. He continues to perform at a high level and has hardly slowed down despite his age. However, Styles has now set the record straight on when he plans to retire from in-ring action.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, AJ Styles talked about when he plans to retire from wrestling. He said he has thought about it a lot, maybe too much. He feels like he should already know what’s next, but it’s hard because he loves wrestling. He also enjoys being around his friends and seeing them happy and successful.

“Oh man, I’ve thought about it a lot—way more than I should have. I should have known what I was doing by now. But it’s so hard because I enjoy it so much, and I love being around my friends. but I have the opportunity to see them and seeing them doing well, smiling, and growing makes me happy.”

Styles compared his situation to Shawn Michaels, who retired but eventually returned for a match. He pointed out that sometimes money plays a role in decisions like that. However, he admitted that wrestling gets harder with age, and the first thing a wrestler loses is their stamina.

“Do I want to wrestle in your 50s? No. Do I want to have a match at 50? No.There are only a few years left, that’s correct. I keep saying that. I’ve said this over and over, but I will not wrestle at 50—I promise you that.”

It’s like Shawn, you know? He was done—until he wasn’t. Sometimes, money talks. Things aren’t as easy as they used to be. The first thing you lose is your stamina.”

AJ Styles also wants to win the WWE Championship one more time before retirement. Therefore, we will have to wait and see when The Phenomenal One will hang up his pro wrestling boots for good, as he is already 47 now and will end his career before he is 50.
