AJ Styles may be getting serious about retirement, and he’s putting it out there in a big way.
SummerSlam is gearing up to take over MetLife Stadium this weekend. There are a lot of big matches on the card, including an IC Title match that may be AJ Styles’ final match at the marquee event.
AJ Styles came in to WWE after a long career around the world. Now, it appears that he may be discussing the end of his career. He has already spoken openly about retirement in the past.
During the SummerSlam kickoff show, AJ Styles was asked by Michael Cole about his upcoming SummerSlam match. The Phenomenal One then admitted that this may be the final time he wrestles at the biggest party of the summer.
“If I’m being honest with you guys, this may be my last SummerSlam. So, I plan on tearing the house down one last time at SummerSlam for you guys.”
AJ Styles went on to say that this is a very special match for him at SummerSlam. The event is very special to him, as his victory over John Cena many years ago helped really solidify him with the WWE Universe.
Dominik Mysterio will do whatever he can to retain the IC Title at SummerSlam. Only time will tell if AJ Styles actually wrestles at his final SummerSlam event tomorrow night at MetLife Stadium, but he will give it everything he has.
