AJ Styles may be retired from in-ring competition, but he’s not stepping away from the company just yet. According to a new report, the Phenomenal One is headed to WWE HQ this week—just days after rumors flared about AEW’s interest in his post-WWE future.
PWInsider reported on February 3, 2026 that Styles is scheduled to visit WWE’s headquarters alongside Tiffany Stratton. While the exact reason for their visit hasn’t been officially confirmed, Mike Johnson suggested they might be recording podcasts.
The update comes on the heels of a huge career moment for Styles, who had his final WWE match at the Royal Rumble in Riyadh. The bout with GUNTHER ended in dramatic fashion, with Styles passing out in a sleeper hold—marking the end of his run as an in-ring performer in WWE.
Triple H confirmed the retirement soon after, revealing that Styles personally told him “he’s done with the in-ring part.” WWE is reportedly discussing a behind-the-scenes role for Styles, potentially in a producer or mentor capacity similar to Shawn Michaels’ current NXT gig.
But outside WWE, there’s been plenty of noise about Styles as well. On the February 1 episode of Fightful’s Royal Rumble post-show, Sean Ross Sapp revealed that AEW insiders were already talking about the possibility of Styles crossing over.
“Certainly, it’s being speculated in AEW,” Sapp said. “Everybody was talking about it. Everybody—everybody was talking about it backstage at Dynamite this past week.”
Adding fuel to the fire, recent trademark filings by Styles for his name and signature logo have sparked debate over whether he’s considering a more independent, brand-forward route outside WWE.
For now, Styles’ WWE HQ visit suggests he’s staying involved with the company—at least for the moment. But with AEW already whispering, AJ Styles’ retirement may just be the start of a brand-new chapter.
