AJ Mana came under fire after Raja Jackson’s brutal assault on Syko Stu, after which he claimed that he was fired from his day job over the incident. However, he has now backtracked on that claim entirely.
While speaking on Something to Wrestle, AJ Mana was asked if he had lost his job. He claimed that it wasn’t due to a conviction or any actual crime on his part, but rather because of the negative attention surrounding him.
Mana’s employers told him they had seen the TMZ story labeling him as an accessory to an attempted murder and didn’t want that kind of publicity affecting them. While he hasn’t technically been fired, they made it clear they don’t want him back at work until the situation settles down.
“Okay, when it comes to my shoot day job, it wasn’t because of a conviction or anything—there’s no crime I actually committed. It was more about me bringing bad attention. They told me, ‘We saw this thing on TMZ about you being an accessory to an attempted murder, and we just can’t have that traffic come our way.’ So technically, I’m not fired, but they’re not really asking me to come back to work until this whole thing blows over.”
This comes after AJ Mana himself claimed that he was fired from his day job after Mana was caught on Raja Jackson’s Kick livestream telling Raja Jackson to “give Stu a receipt.”
“For those that are offended at the fact that I just told the truth, f*** you, because now my f****** life is ruined over your lies. So f*** you… I got a call from my f****** job, ‘We saw the TMZ video. You’re an accessory to an attempted murder. We gotta let you go.’ I can’t wrestle anymore.”
AJ Mana has also denied putting a hit on Syko Stu, leading to Raja Jackson assaulting him. As legal investigations continue, it remains to be seen how much more fallout Mana and others tied to the incident will face, since it’s clear things are far from over.
