The women’s division in WWE has a lot of talent, and AJ Lee’s return saw a real veteran come back into the mix. Now we have her first singles match in the books.

The 2026 Elimination Chamber went down in Chicago, Illinois, on February 28. Fans in the Windy City couldn’t wait to see AJ Lee take on Becky Lynch.

AJ Lee’s return to WWE was really capped off at Elimination Chamber. She lives in Chicago, and the former WWE Divas Champion threw down in her first singles match in over a decade.

Becky Lynch put her Women’s IC Title on the line against AJ Lee. True, The Man didn’t want to do this, but she was pressured in a brilliant way by Lee to accept this match.

This match went on the second of the night, right after Rhea Ripley won the women’s Elimination Chamber match. Fans were 100% behind AJ Lee, and they were almost muted during Becky Lynch’s entrance. They also received a big fight feel, thanks to the ring introductions.

Becky Lynch was up to her heel tricks during this match. AJ Lee tried hard to get it going, but Lynch was able to get away. This match was carried by The Man in many ways as she worked her tail off while AJ Lee stalked her and waited for an opening.

AJ Lee was able to get a bridging submission, and Becky Lynch was able to transition it into a submission for herself. Soon, The Man was on the outside, which gave AJ a chance to skip around the ring for a bit.

Jessika Carr was the referee during this match, which didn’t sit well with Becky Lynch. The Man has had issues with Carr in the past, as she called her crooked. The match continued for a bit as Becky Lynch beat AJ Lee down, despite them trading shots in the middle of the ring. Then Lee was able to come back with a bulldog to put the champion down for a moment. AJ Lee hit a shining wizard for a near fall, and the match kept going from there.

Becky Lynch removed the turnbuckle pad, and then Jessika Carr went to fix it. Becky sent AJ into Carr, and then she “accidentally” kicked her. AJ Lee got the Black Widow on, and Becky Lynch tapped out, but Carr wasn’t able to see the submission. Then Becky knocked AJ Lee down and hit Carr again. The two went outside the ring, and fans chanted “you tapped out” as Lynch demolished Lee on the barricade. Then AJ Lee was able to mount a comeback.

Lynch returned to the ring and hit a DDT on the chair before nailing a Man-Handle Slam, but AJ Lee kicked out as Jessika Car got back in the match. Lee reversed out of another Man-Handle Slam after Jessicka Carr avoided another collision. Then Lynch took the exposed turnbuckle to the face before AJ Lee latched on her submission and got Lynch to tap out. Now there is a new Women’s IC Champion in WWE, and it’s AJ Lee’s first championship in 11 years.
