Ricochet may be leveling up his AEW identity—both in and out of the ring.
On January 12, the current AEW National Champion filed a trademark for the nickname “The Trendsetter,” signaling a potential evolution in his character. The filing, submitted under Ricochet’s real name Trevor Mann, hints at broad usage beyond wrestling matches, including media appearances, interviews, and live events. According to the trademark description, “The Trendsetter” applies to:
“Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network… wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer… televised and live appearances… and online interviews for entertainment purposes.”
The move comes as Ricochet continues his AEW run alongside The Demand—his new faction with Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun. After capturing the first-ever AEW National Championship at Full Gear 2025, Ricochet has positioned himself as one of the company’s most visible stars.
He’s set to speak tonight on AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage from Phoenix, AZ, before traveling to Mexico City for a championship defense against Titán at CMLL’s Viernes Espectacular on January 16.
Whether “The Trendsetter” becomes a permanent title to Ricochet’s character, one thing’s clear—he’s building something bigger than just match highlights.
