AEW’s Newest Faction Has a Name

A new AEW stable name may have just been revealed on Dynamite, and it belongs to none other than Samoa Joe, HOOK, and Katsuyori Shibata.

After weeks of battling The Patriarchy, the trio picked up a Trios victory on tonight’s episode before Samoa Joe laid down a challenge. But the real moment came when Joe made things official, declaring that he, HOOK, and Shibata are now known as “The Opps.”

This war with Christian Cage’s group has been heating up fast, with The Opps attacking Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian in Christian’s locker room last week. Now, Joe is calling for a showdown, officially challenging The Patriarchy to a Trios match on next week’s Dynamite.

With AEW Grand Slam Australia set for this Saturday in Brisbane, The Opps are clearly making their presence felt at a critical time.
