Tony Khan has confirmed a major change following Kyle Fletcher’s injury—and it’s already impacting AEW’s championship picture.

After AEW Collision revealed Fletcher’s injury was legitimate, Khan took to Twitter on April 8 and confirmed the situation is more serious than initially expected. According to Khan, Fletcher will be sidelined for months, forcing AEW to make an immediate decision regarding the TNT Championship.

“Kyle Fletcher, the TNT Champion, has been injured. Based on the current prognosis of the injury, we think Fletcher will be out for months.”

Khan did offer some positive news, noting that Fletcher is expected to return later this year—but not soon enough to continue his current title run.

“I am happy to say we do think Kyle will be back in the ring this year, but that does leave the issue of the TNT Championship.”

With Fletcher unable to defend the title, AEW has officially vacated the TNT Championship—scrapping any planned matches involving the belt in the coming weeks.

“Given the circumstances, with the TNT Title being a huge part of our show now, I am forced to vacate the title, and there will be a Casino Gauntlet match this Sunday in Vancouver at AEW Dynasty.”

Instead of waiting for Fletcher’s return, AEW is moving quickly to crown a new champion, with a Casino Gauntlet match now set for Dynasty. Khan also revealed that the field for that match will begin taking shape immediately, starting with a qualifying bout.

“Tonight, we will find out who will go into the Gauntlet match at number one. We’ll have Tommaso Ciampa face Mascara Dorada, and the winner will go in at number one in the Casino Gauntlet match.”

That completely changes AEW’s short-term plans. What started as uncertainty around Fletcher’s condition has now turned into a confirmed multi-month absence—and a vacant championship that will be decided this weekend. That not only reshapes the TNT title scene but also affects ongoing stories tied to Fletcher and the Don Callis Family.

So with Kyle Fletcher out for months and the TNT Championship now vacant, who do you think should win the Casino Gauntlet at Dynasty and become the new champion? Drop your thoughts below and let us know.
