AEW has a roster filled with talented wrestlers, all hoping for their chance to shine on television. However, with limited screen time, not everyone can get some focus and this leaves wrestlers on the sidelines. In fact, the status of two AEW stars who have been absent for a long time has been revealed.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider recently held a Q&A session where he answered all sorts of questions from fans. One fan asked him where Mike Bennett and Matt Taven have been and if they are still part of AEW.

Mike Johnson noted that Mike Bennett and Matt Taven are still with AEW but have not been used recently. It was further added that there is no clear reason for their absence at this time.

Mike Bennet and Matt Taven were last seen during the ROH Final Battle pay-per-view in December 2024, where they defeated The Infantry in a tag team match. Bennett and Taven were primarily involved with Adam Cole as part of the Undisputed Kingdom for most of 2024.

However, Bennett and Taven’s future in AEW became uncertain after Adam Cole reunited with Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly. With Cole now working alongside them, Bennett and Taven have been left on the sidelines. Therefore, fans will have to wait and see if AEW has long-term plans for Bennett and Taven somewhere down the line.
