It’s really not possible for every single AEW star to get featured on television every single week, but some key talent have been absent from television for one reason or the other. With that said, it appears that Hikaru Shida’s current status with AEW during her absence has been revealed.

While speaking on The Hump, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about Hikaru Shida’s status during her absence and whether she was alright. Sapp stated that everything is good with the former AEW Women’s Champion, but he was surprised to hear she wasn’t backstage at AEW Worlds End since she lives in Orlando.

“I believe everything’s good with Shida. I was surprised to hear she wasn’t backstage at the World’s End show because she lives in Orlando.”

Hikaru Shida’s last match in AEW took place during the November 20th edition of Dynamite, where she lost to Kris Statlander in a solid match. Since then, she has been absent from AEW television.

In the meantime, Shida competed at the Maya Yukihi 10th Anniversary event in Tokyo this month. Regardless, fans are hoping to see Shida back on AEW television as soon as possible, since she really hasn’t had a significant match since her loss to Mercedes Mone at All Out 2024.

Should AEW bring Hikaru Shida back with a major storyline, or do you think she needs time away before making a big return? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
