Hangman Page may have punched his ticket to AEW Double or Nothing after a hard-fought win over Kyle Fletcher, but it turns out even some of the wrestlers involved still don’t know what’s coming next.

According to Fightful Select’s Backstage Report Podcast, AEW talent participating in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament weren’t told who would be winning the whole thing—or even who’s going to main event All In this summer. “We’re told that a lot of the participants in the tournament weren’t told who was gonna win the Owen tournament,” the report stated. “They weren’t told who is going to main event All In, who’s gonna compete for the world title.”

All In is now less than three months away, but according to the report, there’s confusion within the locker room. “I’m not sure if it’s because it’s being kept close internally or because they don’t know yet, but they haven’t been told,” the podcast added. That lack of clarity has some wondering how close AEW is to locking in their summer blockbuster card.

This all comes on the heels of the April 30 episode of AEW Dynamite, where Hangman Page defeated Kyle Fletcher in a brutal main event match to secure his spot in the Owen Hart Tournament finals against Will Ospreay at Double or Nothing on May 25. Page got a hero’s welcome in his home state, and the match delivered in physicality—including a nasty barricade bump that left Fletcher’s back shredded.

Despite the grueling action and a thunderous finish with two Buckshot Lariats, the match may have been overshadowed by what’s happening behind the scenes—or what isn’t.

AEW has often kept major creative moves under tight wraps, but with massive events looming, it’s raising questions from fans and talent alike.
