AEW talent Michael Nakazawa has turned to social media to ask for work, telling fans he needs money to provide for his young son.

On August 10, 2025, Nakazawa posted a straightforward plea on Twitter, making it clear he’s open to wrestling bookings, translation jobs, or even writing gigs if it means keeping food on the table and diapers stocked.

“I need money to buy diapers for my son. If there is anyone who is interested in using me for a wrestling show, a translation job, or writing a column, please DM me.”

Nakazawa’s last AEW match was back in 2023 on AEW Dynamite in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he and Brandon Cutler lost to the Blackpool Combat Club’s Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley by referee’s decision.

Since then, his in-ring schedule has been sparse. Outside of AEW, he’s only wrestled five matches during that time, with his most recent taking place on February 15, 2025, at Maya Yukihi 10th Anniversary ~ Back Then, Now And In The Future in Tokyo. On that night, Nakazawa teamed with Hikaru Shida to defeat Kota Ibushi and Maya Yukihi in a mixed tag match.

The lack of regular work could explain Nakazawa’s public request for bookings, as it appears opportunities in the ring have been few and far between over the last several months. It’s rare for an active AEW wrestler to openly post about financial struggles.

Do you think Michael Nakazawa will find the bookings and work he’s looking for, and would you like to see him wrestle more often in AEW or elsewhere? Share your thoughts in the comments.
